Annotated Article 2

Chris Jerry talks about losing his two year old daughter due to medical errors. When she was a year and a half old she was diagnosed with a yolk sac tumor in her abdomen. That is when her chemotherapy treatment started. Jerry stated that his daughter was on the mends and completely healthy before her chemotherapy treatment was even over. She was a completly happy toddler and no one thought that anything would go wrong. The nurses wanted to start her on a last round of chemotherapy to make sure that the cancer was completely gone.It was Sunday, February 26th,2006 that her last chemotherapy treatment therapy was administered. That afternoon, Emily woke up from her nap feeling groggy which was so unnatural for her and complained that her head hurt. Then she started profusely vomiting and then she went completely limp. The next day she was found dead on life support. All of this was caused by an overdose of sodium chloride in her chemotherapy IV bag due to a nurse not rinsing out the IV bag before it ws administered. None of the nurses at that hospital even had any training.
